To the Mother I Never Knew
To the Mother I Never Knew
I never heard your gentle voice,
Nor felt your loving embrace,
Yet through the years I've carried you,
Deep within a sacred place.
They say that when I came to life,
You were fighting pain untold,
A battle waged with silent strength,
More precious far than finest gold.
Cancer may have claimed your days,
And taken you away from me,
But not a single passing year
Has dimmed your love's eternity.
I never saw your smiling eyes,
Or walked beside you hand in hand,
Yet somehow, Mother, in my heart,
I've always felt your caring hand.
When life is hard, I think of you,
And wonder what your voice would say,
I search for comfort in the stars,
And feel your spirit light my way.
Though fate denied our time together,
It could not steal the bond we share,
For love is greater than all distance,
And I still find your presence there.
There are so many words unsaid,
So many moments we never knew,
But if Heaven grants a soul one wish,
Mine would be to spend one day with you.
I hope you're watching over me,
And smiling with a mother's pride,
For every step and every dream,
I feel you're walking by my side.
And though we met only in a heartbeat,
Before destiny called you above,
I have spent my whole life missing you,
And loving you with endless love.
Until the day our souls unite,
Beyond this world, beyond all pain,
I'll carry your memory in my heart,
And whisper softly—
"Mother, I never had the chance to know you,
But I have loved you all my life."
